Cooking school seeks experienced chef instructor to teach a professional
level training program in culinary arts. Applicant must have extensive
experience both in the kitchen and in the classroom.
Curriculum follows the
classic culinary arts trajectory and includes a combination of lecture and
hands-on production. Servsafe and NYC DOH Food Protection material also covered,
familiarity with this is required. Servsafe proctor certification not required
but a big plus.
Class meets two nights a week in the evening from 6:30 – 10:30 pm starting at the end of August and running through the middle of January. A second class is scheduled to start directly after and run through June. The opportunity to teach recreational classes and develop curriculum also exists. There is also a strong possibility for a part-time or full-time salaried position in the near future. To begin with, hourly rate is in line with that offered at other local, professional schools.
